About Us

About our Program

This Crimestoppers Program began in 1982 from the efforts of our County Commission and our Police Department. Our Program now operates as an independent organization. The concept has developed into a combination of efforts by local media, businesses, civic and social clubs, law enforcement agencies, and the public. Donations of airtime, newspaper space, and reward monies have established Crimestoppers as an effective tool to fight crime in the area.

Mission Statement

Richland County Crimestoppers is a community based organization that promotes citizen involvement in safety by educating residents on crime prevention. Crimestoppers will provide a means of anonymous communication between members of the public and law enforcement agencies. Cash incentives will be rewarded for information, on suspects, that lead to solved crimes.

The Richland County Crimestoppers Board of Directors consist of volunteers from the community and law enforcement members.  At this time the board of directors have members representing the Fairview, and Sidney communities.  Representives from Savage and Lambert are still needed.

The Crimestoppers board is asking that anyone from Savage or Lambert wishing to volunteer to be on the board or wishing to find out more information about volunteering to contact the Richland County Sheriff's Office at 406-433-2919 ask to speak with Undersheriff Robert  Burnison  He will be able to get you in touch with members of the Crimestoppers board or answer questions about the Crimestoppers Board of Directors.
